Definitely
has classical background. Seems like that's the norm for jazz
violinists.
On the other hand, jazz guitarist with classical
background seems to be minority. My guitar teacher, Jimmy Bruno, does
have classical training. He got some ideas about practicing from
Wohlfahrt!
